Report this message By Caroline Gilmour on 3rd Jan 2012It felt strange not to have you here at christmas. I can't imagine how Karen feels not to have you here. I know dad would have been the same. Laura gave me a wee call over the holidays and I feel sad for her as she is so far away and I can't give her a cuddle like I can my dad or Karen. Love you always and forever Caroline, Deek, Lennon and Megan xxxx

Report this message By Pamela Kirby on 29th Nov 2011Dear Karen, Laura and Robert,
For the last year, I have been working on my family tree. I am the Grandaughter of James and Agnes Curran. Agnes was an older sister of Lizzie. I was born in 1952, the year after your Mother came to the US. She became my Godmother at my baptism. While my memories of her are faint, two weeks ago it popped into my head to add her to the tree and I passionately gathered information hoping that I would finally find a living relative. Alas I came to learn that she had just passed. I send my sympathies and the hope that her passing will bring me in touch with my Madden family. I live in New Hampshire. I am the daughter of Agnes' youngest daughter Theresa who passed away in 2000. My mother and your mother were close when Arabella lived in the USA. I hope to visit Scotland in the next year or so. I would love to hear from any of you. My email address is pamela.kirby@comcast.net. I have my baptism certificate with your mother, Arabella Lucas, listed as my Godmother. I hope to hear from you. When one door closes, another one opens. My thoughts are with you. Pam

Report this message By Laura on 17th Nov 2011"My mother..
She was my shining example
Of strengh and compassion
Of honor and love
I was grateful to call her "Mum"
She made me proud
She wasn't only my mother
She was my dear friend
My mother had great strengh
And she was wise..
I always knew I could draw from her strengh
Whenever I needed it
It gave me the courage to grow up and take risks
To experience life's successes...
And a few of its failures
Mother's compassion for others was so deep!
She looked for the need and she filled it
She treated others with kindness and respect
And many lives were blessed through her goodness.."

Report this message By Laura on 11th Nov 2011Wish Heaven had a phone so I could call to hear your voice again. I thought of you today, but this is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and a picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake from which I'll never part.
Your loving daughter, Laura
