RIP John

I was very saddened to hear of the death of John Reynolds and only found out a few days ago when speaking with a former Tile Hill club member. I only met John once, when he kindly agreed to be interviewed for my research into working men's clubs, at the CIU offices in Barras Green. John was a mine of information - he knew so much, he gave me a lot of information and ideas. He was also very kind and funny and made a very positive impression on me. I promised I would buy him a pint someday, but never got the chance. Now I wont be able to do so- I owe you one John! It's thanks to men like him that we had such great clubs in Coventry.He left a great legacy and I hope we can keep some of that alive. He will figure in my book on clubs and I am writing a long obituary for my website <a href="http://www. clubhistorians.co. uk">www. clubhistorians. co.uk</a> out of my respect for him. My deepest sympathy and condolescences go out to his family and his former colleagues and associates in the club world. He did a wonderful job and I know he will be sorely missed.
