ValerieBURNETTJune 25th, 2015. Valerie died in the early hours of 25th June 2015, peacefully at Arrowe Park Hospital, aged 72. Originally from Surrey, Val spent many years living in Little Neston working with special needs children at Deeside School and bringing up her two children. She moved to Upton in the 1980s. Val was long term companion and partner of Colin. She is the dearly loved mum of Danny and Helen and mother-in-law of Chris and Angela. Granny to Stephen, Jake, Michael, Karen, Jen and Nick. Val enjoyed singing with Green Blade and previously acting with Wild Shepherd Mummers and was an active member of many groups on Wirral including, Tai Chi, The Friends of Hilbre, The Concourse Singers, Leasowe Lighthouse, The Hoylake Lifeboat Museum. Val was very keen on local history and as well as studying in this area to a high level she recently contributed in helping to research and create the Charles Dawson Brown Museum which is beside St. Bridget's Church of West Kirby. Val really enjoyed the beauty and harmonies in nature; she loved the feel of the sand between her toes and the feel of the sun's warmth on her skin. She was a supportive mother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. The Funeral service is on Tuesday July 21st at 12.00 noon at St. Bridget's Church, West Kirby, (please do not wear black) followed by Cremation at Landican. Family flowers only please, donations appreciated for either Barnardos or The Alzheimer's Society, c/o Quinn's Funeral Service, Greasby. Tel: 0151 677 2299.
